Operating from September to November, the voyages will take place on the Viking Yi Dun, formerly known as the Viking Sun.

Viking has announced three unique itineraries for 2024, granting exclusive access to China. These new voyages, ranging from 10 to 20 days, will take guests to renowned cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. Alongside these iconic destinations, Viking will also take guests on a domestic sailing along China’s coast, unveiling rarely-seen ports that are only accessible to Viking guests. This unparalleled experience has never been offered to international visitors before. Operating from September to November, the voyages will take place on the Viking Yi Dun, formerly known as the Viking Sun. As a sister ship to Viking’s other ocean vessels, it boasts the same exceptional design and service. The Chinese-flagged Viking Yi Dun will be the first ship dedicated to the foreign market to offer domestic sailings in China. Each voyage will adhere to The Viking Way® of exploration, providing immersive experiences that introduce guests to the country’s people, history, and culture.

Viking is thrilled to be the first to offer domestic sailings in China for international travelers. China, with its incredibly rich culture, has been a source of inspiration for curious travelers throughout history. According to Torstein Hagen, Chairman of Viking, their Yangtze River voyages have been highly acclaimed for over 15 years. They have taken guests to iconic places such as the Great Wall, Beijing, and the Terra Cotta Warriors, providing an authentic experience of China. The opportunity to interact with local school children has always been a highlight. Now, Viking is excited to bring back these encounters and continue to captivate the imagination of their guests with new voyages.
